Lisa Swart
South African born Lisa Swart grew up in Paraguay and returned to South Africa at the age of 15 to enroll in art school (Pro Arte High School) specializing in drama. She performed in various stage productions and at the end of 1992 won the prize for Drama Pupil of the year.
In 2006 she graduated with a BA from AFDA (African Film and Drama Association) specializing in writing and directing.
She won the 2004 Best Student film award for her short “Charlize and I”. Her filmography as a Director and Writer includes “Vumisa” (2004), “If the Shoe Fits” (2004), “Frida” (2004), “Wake Up Bitch” (2005) and “In My Fathers House”, (2005).
In 2009 her documentary “The Pioneer of Paraguay” was selected for the Encounters International Documentary Film Festival.
She is drawn to observational-style documentary making, Lisa appreciates films that are sensitive to people and that, with meaningful simplicity, are able to bring understanding to political and personal situations that affect society and individuals.
Her passion for film goes back to her childhood in Paraguay, where she spent her teenage years observing the nuances of South American culture. This curiosity piqued an interest in the diverse work of both writers and directors, such as; Luis Bruñel, David Lynch, Andy Kaufman, Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu and Alejandro Jodorowsky.

Life long movie aficionado Nadir teamed up with Lisa Swart to establish Strange Love Films. With his extensive background in finance and his encyclopedic knowledge of film Nadir possesses the perfect combination of skills to bring any project to life.
